In this episode of Boost Your Week with Ignited Decisions, I sit down with Catherine McNulty, founder of Grief Inspired, to talk about her journey from corporate life to becoming a grief coach and educator. Catherine shares her personal experiences of grief and loss, how she navigated the emotional challenges of losing loved ones, and why she is passionate about helping others through their own grief journey.

We explore the importance of grief education, seeking support, and sharing personal stories to process loss in a healthy way. Catherine also introduces the concept of “gratisad”, the ability to feel both sadness and gratitude at the same time, and how embracing this duality can be a powerful tool for healing.

Whether you’ve experienced the loss of a spouse, parent, child, or loved one, or you support someone who is grieving, this episode provides practical insights and encouragement. We also discuss Catherine’s plans for expanding her work, the power of using the same tools we teach others, and how her podcast is helping spread awareness about grief and healing.

Resources & Connect with Catherine McNulty:

BIO: Catherine McNulty is a grief coach, educator, and founder of Grief Inspired.  Her journey into grief support began after the loss of her infant son in 2011, an experience that profoundly changed her life’s trajectory.  Today, she helps her clients release the victim mindset of grief, move forward, and be inspired to honor the past while embracing the future.  Her courses and teachings are anchored in hope, resilience, and courage to see grief as not just about loss, but about transformation.  She teaches that while the pain of loss will never fully disappear, together we can learn to carry it differently.  We can learn how to embrace change rather than fear it, find strength in the pain that once threatened to consume us and choose to live in a way that honors the love we carry in our hearts.  She believes that grief can be a part of who we are, but it no longer has to define us.  Catherine lives in Virginia Beach with her 12-year-old son Mason, and an Aussiepoo named Winston.
